Epithalon, also written Epitalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine. It was developed by Vladimir Khavinson's group in St Petersburg, based on epithalamin, an extract of the bovine pineal gland.
Published work on it has been mostly in cell culture and animal studies, much of it from the same research group, including studies of telomerase activity in cultured cells. Independent human studies are lacking.
